Every job below is one we do ourselves across Las Vegas.
We build new decks from the footings up, whether that is a simple ground-level platform or a raised deck with stairs and a full railing system. Footings get sized for our soil and the actual load the deck will carry, not a one-size number pulled off a chart.
Soft spots, bouncy boards and sagging frames usually trace back to a rotted joist or a ledger board that was never flashed properly. We open up the area, replace what has failed, and fix the water path that caused it in the first place instead of just patching over it.
Vegas sun bleaches and dries out wood fast, and an unsealed deck can start checking and splitting within a couple of summers. We strip or clean the old finish, let the wood dry fully, and apply a stain and sealer rated for high UV exposure.
We design multi-level decks, built-in benches, shade structures and layouts that work with the slope of your yard instead of fighting it. You get drawings you can actually picture before we cut a single board.
Composite boards do not need yearly staining and they hold up better than wood against the heat here, though they do get hot underfoot in July. We install it with hidden fastener systems for a clean look and proper gapping so it does not buckle in the sun.
Railings have to meet code, which in most of the valley means a 36 to 42 inch height and balusters spaced so a 4-inch sphere cannot pass through. We build railings in wood, aluminum, cable or glass panel, and we make sure the posts are actually bolted to the frame, not just toe-nailed.
If the frame underneath is still solid, you do not always need a whole new deck, just new decking on top of it. We check joist spacing before we install anything, since composite usually needs tighter spacing than the old wood boards did.
This is the part nobody sees once it is finished, and it is the part that actually holds the deck up. We replace rotted joists and beams, upgrade undersized framing, and re-anchor ledger boards that were never lag-bolted into the house properly.
A lot of decks in this heat need shade more than they need anything else. We build pergolas and attached covers sized to your deck's footprint, framed to carry the load of lattice, fabric or solid roofing panels.
Sometimes the old deck has to come out before anything new goes in, whether it is rotted through or just built wrong from the start. We tear it out, haul it off, and check the ledger and framing underneath for damage before we build over it.
Four steps, and no surprises in any of them.
You tell us what you want doing, we look at what is actually there, and we ask the awkward questions early.
In writing, itemised, free. If something might add cost later we flag it now rather than at the end.
Same crew throughout. We cover your floors, keep the dust down and tidy up before we leave each day.
You point out anything you are not happy with and we fix it before the invoice, not after.
Deck installation and repair work covers Las Vegas and the towns around it.
